A leaf shaped hessonite garnet gemstone is surrounded by an organic style setting of fine silver and sits atop a larger leaf shaped pendant of recycled sterling silver.

These hessonite garnets are recognisable from their warm cinnamon red tones.

Made in the TAeR Studios in West Clare and hallmarked with sterling silver marks at Dublin Castle for authenticity.

There are 4 of these available, and due to their handmade nature they will all vary ever so slightly.

In the Middle Ages, it was widely believed that garnet was a cure for depression and ailments and also that it protected it's wearer from bad dreams.

The word "garnet" comes from the Latin word granatus for seed or grain, which is thought most likely to refer to the pomegranate seed. 

Garnet is known as the birthstone for January, and a celebration of the second wedding anniversary.
